SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA
 

STATEMENT OF PURPOSES

The Education Committee is charged with the responsibility of recruiting applicants, reviewing credentials
and selecting qualified applicants to present to the Board of Directors for scholarship eligibility. The
purpose of awarding scholarships is to assist Montserratians and Caribbean-American students in their
endeavor to achieve an education beyond the high school level. Scholarships will be awarded to those
students who demonstrate academic ability, financial need and have the potential to succeed in their
chosen field(s).

The Montserrat Progressive Society of New York, Inc donates funds to the Pink Ribbon Charity on island during their fundraising event in January.

The Montserrat Progressive Society of New York, Inc is working with the Schomburg Center in Harlem to have its historical record preserved at the Center.

NEW YORK, NY – April 9, 2012 – The Montserrat Progressive Society of New York (MPS-NY), Inc., a 98 year-old continuously functioning organization is holding its 21st Annual Mother’s Day Extravaganza at Eastwood Manor, 3371 Eastchester Road, Bronx, New York 10469, Sunday, May 13, 2012 from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
